Laura Braasch

Laura brings to FSC extensive knowledge and notable experience in the finance, lending, general corporate, private equity, financial services, and trademark areas of law.

After graduating from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, Laura worked as an associate for Squire Patton Boggs, LLP, where she counseled banks, private equity funds, mezzanine funds, and other institutional lenders. She also advised companies and financial institutions on general business matters including formation and governance, a wide variety of contracts, and licensing.

Prior to joining the FSC team, Laura was Of Counsel at Schiff Hardin, LLP where she advised banks, mezzanine funds, and other institutional lenders in connection with various finance transactions, including acquisition financings, assets based on loan facilities, mezzanine financings, and equity investments.

Throughout her career, Laura has negotiated, documented, and closed many facilities establishing revolving lines of credit and term loans — both secured and unsecured — and involving both senior and subordinated debt, for acquisition financings and general working capital purposes. She did this work for companies spanning various industries, including transportation, energy, and manufacturing. Laura also counseled companies regarding trademark clearance and handled trademark prosecutions and advised numerous emerging companies, in a variety of industries, with respect to start-up issues. And that only scratches the surface.

In her free time, Laura enjoys interior design, playing piano, gardening, cooking, reading, and sewing.
